Preparation for making clear ice cubes
\n<\/h3>\n

Fill the cooler with water almost to the brim. Then you put the cooler in the freezer, but without the lid.<\/p>\n

It must be taken out when the cooler has been in the freezer for 24 hours. Keep the time accurate and avoid going beyond plus\/minus 1 hour. If the ice takes less time, it has not been cooled sufficiently. If it takes longer, the ice cubes will not be as clear as they could be.<\/p>\n

After 24 hours, place the cooling box with the opening downwards on a lard board. After a few minutes, you can hear the ice loosening.<\/p>\n

When you lift the cooler, you will see a surface that is not entirely frozen. You cut off this part of the ice with a bread knife. In the end, you are left with the part of the ice that is completely frozen.

Find your knife and hammer!<\/h3>\n

Place a tea towel on a table and place the lard with the block of ice on top. Then the fat board slides as little as possible for you.<\/p>\n

Now you can start cutting out the clear ice cubes! With the bread knife, saw lengthwise from the block of ice so that you cut through the thinnest piece. Try not to press too hard with the knife and instead see through the ice. You can give the knife a light blow with a hammer when you have come a good way through.<\/p>\n

If you do not use the ice cubes immediately, you can store them in the freezer in a plastic bag.
